The CUK Ascot Showroom: A Captivating Experience – JBL Synthesis.
Nestled in the heart of Ascot, the CUK showroom offers a captivating glimpse into the world of cutting-edge technology and innovative products. As you step through the doors, you’re immediately enveloped in an atmosphere of sophistication and modernity. The sleek, minimalist layout showcases a curated selection of the latest gadgets and home automation solutions, each one a testament to CUK’s commitment to excellence.
During our visit here we got to check out CUK’s two new cinema rooms. Both of which have dual speakers setups running to perfectly demonstrate the the levels of home cinema systems that can be acheived.
The star of the show was the JBL Synthesis Elite 9.1.4 setup. It is possibly the most complete home theatre / cinema audio setup I have heard. Going to be hard to listen to other setups after this!
That does not mean that the FOCAL setups are anything to be sniffed at. First we started with the 300 & 100 setup and this offered a decent bang for buck setup. As they state themselves at CUK this is not positioned optimally due to running two setups in the same space. However no room is ever perfect and this is still a great setup for the money.
Next we had the Utopia & 1000 series setup and here we venture much deeper into the world of what a home cinema can sound like. This is a much more optimal setup and placement and it certainly lets you know about it. Hard to not get goosebumps when watching your favourite scene. Here the LCRs almost blend together seemlessly and create a sound wall which makes you feel like you are in the film / movie itself.

Now to the second room – JBL Synthesis setups. (this room I was really looking forward to). We started with the ‘Premium’ setup with positional compromises. This setup planted itself firmly in between the two FOCAL setups in the previous room. A definite few levels above the 300 & 100 but not quite able to match up to the Utopia & 1000 setup. The price points on this matched up and do mean there are plenty of options for all budgets.
Then it was time for the JBL Synthesis ‘Elite’ setup. This is certainly an elite setup and has a large price tag, one which I hoped it would live up to. I did not need to worry – wow. As stated previously this is one of the best cinema audio setups I have ever heard, and I don’t say that lightly. It was seemless and the sound enveloped you, almost like you couldn’t escape from it – not that you would want to. This was a complete audio masterclass for film / movie watching. It sounds ridiculous to say but it actually did feel like you were in it. Going to be very hard to go back home and watch a film again. Incredible.
